Historic Preservation Ordinance: Sacramento's Premier Preservation Planning Tool
The Sacramento Historic Preservation Ordinance is part of the City of Sacramento’s Government Charter; Chapter 17, “Planning and Development.” The Preservation Ordinance is an enacted regulation and enforced by the Community Development Department.
This ordinance is an important tool for citizens concerned about protecting Sacramento’s irreplaceable historic resources. As an organization, Preservation Sacramento acts as a conduit between the public and city officials who are required to enforce the terms of the Preservation Ordinance.
